Back 2 The Garden
Berkeley CA | 1993
“Working with Andrée Singer Thompson, Leibovitz Steinman created Back 2 The Garden, and as it suggests, it was the first art-farm to appear since (Bonnie) Sherk’s art-farm disappeared. Shaped like a “recycling arrow,” the raised-bed garden featured numerous stations moving from compost to plants to fruit trees and back to compost. The cities of Oakland and Berkeley commissioned this temporary garden for the Re Cycle Festival held at the Berkeley Recycling Center.”
